Thomas William Croke was the second Catholic Bishop of Auckland, New Zealand . He became Archbishop of Cashel and Emly in Ireland at a later date.
He was important in the Irish nationalist movement. He was one of the founders of the GAA. The main GAA stadium in Dublin is named Croke Park, in his honour.
