The sub title of this book is A Diary of Hunger Strike. Mr Gallagher went on hunger strike in Mountjoy Jail in 1920. This is a record of his ordeal on hunger strike. His story is full of gentleness and humour. There is also great pathos in his story.
Our copy of the book was published by Mercier Press in 1967 and is now a rare book.
Gallagher’s story must not be forgotten.
