Endurance

As the wreck of Endurance was found recently we have put a number of books on the ship and Ernest Shackleton together.

The story of Shackleton’s epic journey to cross the Antarctic over land failed. However, the resulting adventure has become one of the most celebrated accounts of man’s survival against unbelievable odds.

In 1914 the Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half the continent away, the ship was trapped.. Endurance was then crushed in the ice and sank.

Endurance has now been found some 3,000 meters under the ice. The ship is in remarkable condition after over 100 years.
