Captain John M Feehan started the Mercier Books imprint in the mid 1960’s. He published a number of Kerry authors including John B Keane, Eamon Kelly and Bryan MacMahon. Captain Feehan had a great interest in Irish politics and history. He published quite a number of books on the Northern Troubles.
Operation Brogue was perhaps his most famous book. Published in 1984, it caused a lot of controversy for its un-critical portrait of Charles J Haughey.
We carry a large stock of Mercier Press titles. On a side issue, a number of the early titles were printed in Rock Street, by The Kerryman.
