Mutiny For the Cause is the savage and tragic story of the mutiny of the Connaught Rangers, stationed in the Punjab in 1920. Nicknamed The Devil’s Own, the regiment had a fine tradition of service and victory in the name of the British Crown.
However, when rumours reached them from Ireland of the outrages committed by the Black and Tans, they marched into the guardroom and announced “In protest against British atrocities in Ireland we refuse to soldier any longer in the name of the King.”
