Nedeen Kelliher was one of the great characters that called Blennerville and Tralee his home. Nedeen was known throughout Ireland for his wit. He plied his trade as a jarvey in Tralee and its vicinity. The jarvey car was drawn by Cyril, a jennet. This wonderful animal and his master were inseparable. It is said that Cyril could negotiate the Dingle Road from Tralee to Ned’s house in Annagh, when his master was otherwise engaged.
This tribute was complied by the Lucey brothers, from St John’s Park. Jimmy and Tommy Lucey were both poets of renown.
Ned died in 1989 and this commemorative booklet was published in the same year. It is a fitting tribute to a great character and his jennet
