Originally published in 1926 Seanfhocail na Mumhan (Proverbs of Munster) was written and compiled by Padraig Ó Siochfhradha. Mr Ó Siochfhradha was a noted Irish scholar and author that used An Seabhac (The Hawk) as his pen name.
The proverbs are written in Irish. There are 2,607 entries in the book.
If one used and Irish – English dictionary , it would be very easy to translate the seanfhocail.
This book would make a great introduction to learning the Irish language.
