The coast of Ireland is littered with shipwrecks. There are over 2,000 miles of Irish coast line. Many of the wrecks were small vessels of less than 100 tons. However, many bigger ships also came to grief off the Irish coast.
The authors are well known for their many shipwreck publications. This book is a welcome addition to the maritime history of Ireland. The Kerry coast is particularly treacherous . The chapter dealing with the wrecks in Kerry waters is of great local interest. We remember the Ranga, which sank off Coumenole Beach in 1982.
This is a book of great scholarship and a must have for anyone interest in our maritime history.
