The Farranfore to Valencia Harbour Railway

December 9, 2020 By P Commane

We are pleased to announce that we have secured a further copy of each book. Both books are in excellent condition. Please contact us for details.

The Farranfore to Valencia Harbour Railway opened for business on 12th September 1893. Travelers from Dublin, on 9.15am train, arrived at Valentia Harbour 6.22pm.  Quite a long journey.

The service closed in January 1960. Patrick O’Sullivan has written the history of this unique railway line, in two volumes.

Volume 1 covers, planning, construction and outline of of operation.

Volume 2 covers, the life of the line, its train services, locomotives and personalities.

We have both volumes and both books are in excellent condition.
