This short book was published in 1959 to commemorate Gene Mangan’s spectacular cycling career.
In 1955 he won the Rás Tailteann at 18 years of age. He was and still is the youngest winner of the race .
In 1958 he won the last four stages of the Rás. This is a record that still stands today. In all he won 12 stages of Rás.
The booklet features advertisements for various businesses. Many of these have now closed.
This booklet is a record of a different Ireland from today. It is now very rare and was printed in Tralee by The Kerryman.
