During the 1971/1972 soccer season, the legendary sports journalist Hunter Davies, spent a year with Tottenham Hotspur. The result was one of the best soccer books ever written, The Glory Game. As Spurs have eventually opened their new stadium it is appropriate to look back at how different things were in England, both football wise and in society from 1971/72. For example, the maximum wage was only abolished in 1961. Footballers were only paid £20 per week as part of the maximum wage. Times have certainly changed.
This edition was published in 1992. The book comes with introductions to all four editions.
