This is a biography of Michael Joseph O’Rahilly. He was born in Ballylongford, Co Kerry in 1875.
He became interested in Irish Nationalism. This eventually led him to found the Irish Volunteers in 1913.
In 1914 he was involved in the Howth gun importation plot. During the Easter Rising in 1916 he was stationed in the GPO. Five days later he was killed leading an attack on Crown forces in Moore Street.
This book was published in Tralee by Anvil Books in 1967. It is a first edition.
We have included an original postcard featuring The O’Rahilly. The postcard was printed by Powel Press, Dublin after the O’Rahilly’s execution in 1916.
