This is the story of a 300 years old Georgian building standing on Dawson Street in Dublin. After nearly three centuries of interaction with humans, and hearing them say, “If these Walls could only talk!”
Thirty Nine decided that it is time he told his story and when a sympathetic interpreter presented himself, this book was born. The Author and his friend and neighbour Mansion House, have personally witnessed the growth and development of the City of Dublin from the aristocratic second city of the British Empire. Through famine and rebellion, through the birth of a modern nation. And Dublin with its economic struggles up to the glamorous lair of the Celtic Tiger.
Robert Connolly has relayed the history of 39 Dawson Street faithfully. The building is now occupied by Café en Seine and continues to entertain locals and visitors alike.
