The Lifeboats of Valentia have been in service since 1946. At that stage the volunteer crew were summoned to action by firing maroon flares.
Dick Robinson has been associated with the lifeboat station for over sixty years. He is well place to describe the history of the lifeboat station on Valentia Island.
This book is a fitting tribute to the people who have served and will be a record of the station for many years to come.
